Get a token first
These tools use a personal access token. Create one in Settings → MCP → Access token and replace YOUR_TOKEN in every snippet below. (ChatGPT, Claude.ai and Codex use sign-in instead, see Connect an AI tool.)
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http pinmarks https://app.pinmarks.io/api/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_TOKEN"
Or add this to your .mcp.json:
{"mcpServers": {"pinmarks": {"type": "http","url": "https://app.pinmarks.io/api/mcp","headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_TOKEN" }}}}
Claude Desktop
Open Settings → Developer → Edit Config, paste this into claude_desktop_config.json and restart Claude Desktop. It uses the mcp-remote helper, which needs Node.js.
{"mcpServers": {"pinmarks": {"command": "npx","args": ["-y", "mcp-remote", "https://app.pinmarks.io/api/mcp", "--header", "Authorization:${PINMARKS_AUTH}"],"env": { "PINMARKS_AUTH": "Bearer YOUR_TOKEN" }}}}
Cursor
Open Cursor Settings → MCP Tools, click + and paste into mcp.json:
{"mcpServers": {"pinmarks": {"url": "https://app.pinmarks.io/api/mcp","headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_TOKEN" }}}}
VS Code and GitHub Copilot
Run MCP: Add Server from the Command Palette, choose HTTP, or add this to your MCP configuration:
{"servers": {"pinmarks": {"type": "http","url": "https://app.pinmarks.io/api/mcp","headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_TOKEN" }}}}
Windsurf
{"mcpServers": {"pinmarks": { "serverUrl": "https://app.pinmarks.io/api/mcp" }}}
Authorization: Bearer YOUR_TOKEN header.JetBrains and others
Most other MCP clients accept the same shape: a server URL plus an Authorization header.
{"mcpServers": {"pinmarks": {"url": "https://app.pinmarks.io/api/mcp","headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_TOKEN" }}}}
