Accessibility checks

WCAG scanning with an accessibility score, impact per rule, pass rates and needs-review items.

Updated October 2026

Standards and levels

Choose WCAG 2.1 (best for ADA) or WCAG 2.2 (best for the European Accessibility Act), a conformance level of A, AA or AAA, and optionally add best-practice rules. Scans use the axe-core engine.

Accessibility score

The score is 0 to 100, based on passing checks against failing checks weighted by impact (Critical, Serious, Moderate, Minor).

The checks table

Each row is a rule. Use Display to choose columns: owner, potential, pages, criterion, level, category, responsibility, impact on score and pass rate. Impact on score estimates how many points you gain by fixing that rule; Pass rate shows how many tested elements already pass. Your column choice is remembered.

Check details

Open a rule to see each affected element with a screenshot crop, its selector and HTML, colour-contrast values where relevant, and the pages it appears on (up to 25 elements per rule per page). A Potential issues list shows elements the scanner could not decide automatically and that need a human review.

Fix guidance

For you and your developers, each check includes plain-English How to fix it steps and a Full guide with examples. The Copy AI prompt button copies a ready-made prompt describing the issue and the fix, which you can paste into an AI coding assistant. SEO checks have the same buttons. This guidance is only in the dashboard; client reports leave it out on purpose.

What automation cannot do

Not a legal certification

Automated testing detects only a portion of accessibility problems. Use scan results alongside manual testing and keyboard and screen-reader checks.
