Reporting feedback with the widget
Annotated screenshots, video, capture modes and the technical details PinMarks attaches automatically.
Updated October 2026
How a report is sent
- 1Click the Report issue button, or press Cmd+I / Ctrl+I. The shortcut works even when the button itself is hidden.
- 2Choose what to capture, then mark up the screenshot.
- 3Add a title and details. Name and email are filled in automatically for signed-in members and guests, and asked of anonymous visitors.
- 4Submit. The report appears in your inbox straight away and is sent to any connected tools.
Capture modes
| Mode | Key | What it captures |
|---|---|---|
| Area | A | A rectangle you drag on the page. |
| Visible area | V | Everything currently in the viewport (default). |
| Entire page | E | The full scrolling page, stitched together. |
| Desktop | D | Your whole screen, via the browser's screen-sharing prompt. |
Press Enter to capture or Esc to cancel. For the most accurate screenshots, install the browser extension.
Annotation tools
- Arrow, Rectangle, Circle to point at things.
- Draw for freehand sketches and Highlight for a translucent highlighter.
- Text for labels, and Blur to hide private data before sending.
- Select to move or resize what you already drew, plus Undo and Redo.
- Insert image, a searchable emoji picker and a colour picker.
- Download and Copy to clipboard to save the annotated image, and Copy share link for a public link to just that image (it shows the picture with a download button, it is not a review portal).
Video feedback
On the Agency plan, when Video Feedback is switched on (Widget → Screen capture), reporters can choose Record a video to show what happened with their screen and voice, up to 3 minutes. It records the current tab plus the microphone on desktop browsers. If the microphone is blocked it records without voice. Reporters can re-record or remove the clip before sending.
Suggest text edits
Reviewers can propose a copy change directly on the page, for a typo, a rewrite or a new headline, without describing where it is.
- 1Select the text on your site. A Suggest edit button appears next to the selection.
- 2Click it. The normal widget opens with the selected text shown as Original text, and a Suggested text box to type the replacement in. No title is needed, it is created for you.
- 3Optionally add a note explaining why, then submit.
The report arrives as a Suggestion with the original and suggested text side by side (red and green), the page screenshot, and the page element it came from. The same before and after is shown on Kanban cards and sent to connected tools.
