Workspace and project setup

What happens at sign-up, how to create a project, and what the Get started page does.

Updated October 2026

Your workspace

When you sign up (with email and password, or Google) PinMarks creates a workspace for you, named after you, and makes you its owner. If you were invited to a team, you join that workspace instead. The first time you sign in as an owner, a short onboarding asks for your company name and which tools you use; your answers do not change any settings.

You can rename the workspace under Settings → General (owners and admins).

Create a project

A project is one website. Owners, admins and members can create projects.

  1. 1On Projects, click New Project.
  2. 2Enter a Project name (for example "My Client Site") and, optionally, the Domain.
  3. 3Choose where issues should go. Pick a tool and its destination, or choose Collect feedback in PinMarks only. You can change this later in Settings → Integrations.
  4. 4Click Create Project.

PinMarks creates the project's API key, emails you the install snippet, and (if you gave a domain) captures a thumbnail of your homepage in the background. There is no limit on the number of projects in the app.

Using Jira? The dialog connects your account, then you finish choosing the Jira project in Settings → Integrations.

The Get started page

A new project opens on a short checklist with two cards:

  • Monitor your website: done once monitoring is enabled. On the Agency plan the button opens Website Monitoring; on other plans it links to pricing.
  • Collect feedback: done once the project has its first feedback. The button takes you to the widget installation, or to your feedback once you have some.

Use Hide this page to remove the guide for a project. This is remembered for a year in your browser.
